We are especially interested in candidates who have the capability to quickly assume increasing responsibility and leadership to match the ongoing growth of the program. We seek an emerging leader who understands the evolving nature of scholarly record and sustainability aspects of the emerging knowledge infrastructure. Also of interest are the curatorial aspects of the evolving nature of the scholarly record, such as preprints, research data, code/software, text mining, and virtual reality. The program will encompass different content types including general, special, rare, archival, object, and community-based collections, including those traditionally housed in libraries, archives, and museums, as well as through digital services and community organizations. Program areas include digitization, preservation, collection development and management (including collective collections and shared storage), curatorial principles and values, policy issues (including diversity, repatriation, ownership, indigenous data sovereignty), and discovery and access. It will consider various lifecycle events over time. The focus on collections will include both physical and digital formats that support learning, teaching, research, and creative expression.
This position is an individual contributor role however, we anticipate the program area may grow in scope, requiring this person to supervise 1-3 direct reports. In addition to taking responsibility for several projects in an existing portfolio of work, the Program Manager will shape what research projects and products Ithaka S+R will consider in the Collections and Infrastructure space.
